If you do not have much time, do not use your iPhone's charger to charge your iPad. The iPad uses 10 watts, while the iPhone uses 5 watts. If you're worried about people trying to access your data, you can fix your iPad to erase your data if there are a certain number of failed attempts. If a person hasn't found your password after 10 attempts it will erase your data. The iPad can be instantly muted. The first iPads did not have a mute button on them. With the iOS 4.3, you can now use the lock switch to mute the sound. Now, you can quickly mute your iPad by holding the "down" half of the volume button.
