Do you hate seeing constant notifications for connecting to a Wi-Fi network? If yes, you can turn it off. Simply go to your settings, tap on Wi-Fi, and turn off the feature that asks if you want to join networks. If you would like to join networks later on, fear not. This can easily be achieved, but you won't have to deal with high numbers of notifications in the interim.

If you wish to access servers remotely, you need a VPN connection. In order to connect to a VPN network through your iPad, navigate to Settings and select the Network tab. Then, select the VPN feature. Then, you'll need to put in a username and your server address. If you don't know the address of the server, contact the network administrator.
If you want to sync your Google and iPad calendars, go to Mail, Contact then Calendars. Select Add An Account. When prompted for the type, choose Other. Hit Add CalDAv Account and punch in all of your Google information. Then, back out of your settings app and single-tap your calendar app. There you have it!
If you have trouble getting your side volume buttons to work, head to "settings" and "general" followed by "sounds." Be sure you have the feature that allows you to change volume with buttons enabled. You can slide the volume up and down this way.

The battery life on your iPad needs to be managed to maximize functionality. Don't let it get too hot. Keep the brightness as low as is comfortable. You can use airplane mode whenever you're not online. You can also turn off Push email to lighten battery use. You can manually check your calendars and email if you need to.
Locate your bookmarks more easily. All you need to do is change your settings so that the Bookmark bar is always displayed. In your Safari settings, choose the option to always keep your bookmarks bar on. This allows you to avoid doing all the clicking you had to do in the past simply to visit your favorite websites.
