FaceTime is great for getting email and keeping contacts. When you set up FaceTime, it will remember the email you use to access iTunes, but additional emails can be added. If there are several phone numbers or emails that you need FaceTime to know, set them up inside your iPad settings.
Remote servers can be accessed with VPN networks. If this is something that you need to do, just go to Settings, click Network, and then turn the VPN feature on. At that point you just input the information that is requested, including treh server address. If you are unaware of the server address, you must contact the network administrator.
Do you just hate knowing how much charge remains in your iPad battery? It may be useful to know that they are easy to turn off. Begin by going to your iPad's Settings. Look under General to find Usage. Access the Usage menu and turn off the display for battery percentage.

If you would like to include your Google Calender on your iPad's calender app, go to mail, then contacts and then calenders. You select Other after tapping the Add An Account icon. Hit your "Add CalDAV" icon and add in the relevant Google information. Then, back out of your settings app and single-tap your calendar app. Now, you should be ready.
You may find your iPad doesn't charge efficiently when connected with the front panel of your computer. In this case, switch to the back. USB outlets don't always have a lot of power, and front ports tend to be the lowest of the bunch. If you are still having problems, get a USB adapter that plugs into a wall outlet.

There is a place where you can change the settings to look at more lines of preview text in your email Go to your settings, tap on mail and change the preview settings. Reset the number so that it shows five lines at one time By doing this, you can see as much of an email as you want, which will speed up the process of viewing emails.
You might want to buy an external iPad keyboard. When you type a lot, be it in a texting app or word processing, this will make the job easier. These (often wireless) keyboards will be much easier than onscreen iPad keyboards.
You can maximize the battery life of your iPad. Keep it away from excessive heat. Turn the brightness of your screen down to the lowest comfortable setting. When you are not using the Internet, set it to airplane mode. Disabling Push notifications aids battery life quite a bit. Simply check email manually.

You can't go from day to day by simply swiping the calendar function. The way to get from one date to the next is by using the bar located below the main calendar screen. You'll notice that blue marks the current day.
